Keshav Maharaj dismissed Ajinkya Rahane in India’s first innings and claimed his 100th Test wicket. The left-arm achieved the prestigious feat in ongoing India vs South Africa Test. It took the 29-year old 27 matches to achieve the landmark. South Africa is regarded as a factory for fast bowlers and the rainbow nation has produced many great pacers in the past. In those circumstances, Maharaj decided to be a left-arm orthodox spinner and is now a vital cog of the Test team. The cricketer has played the majority of his matches in the unfavourable pitches of South Africa and still has a decent record at the highest level. India Vs South Africa, Live Cricket Score 2nd Test Match.

Maharaj made his Test debut in November 2016 and since then emerged as a frontline spinner of the Proteas Test side. His 100-wicket tally also comprises five five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul. The Durban-born lad has delivered some fantastic spells on the pitches of New Zealand and England and had proved his mettle. Apart from being a classic left-arm spinner, Maharaj is also a handy batsman lower down the order and has also played few cameos for the side. However, the bowler had a forgettable outing in the Visakhapatnam Test and will want to redeem himself in the ongoing clash in Pune.

Talking about the second India vs South Africa Test, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Rohit Sharma got dismissed cheaply for 14. India will aim to win the encounter and clinch the series 2-0. While the Proteas will eye a comeback in order to square the series.
