MS Dhoni, on Wednesday during the second T20I between India and Australia, became the first Indian to score 350 sixes in all formats of the game. Dhoni last night at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru scored 40 runs from 23 balls hitting three fours and three maximums. Australia won the game by seven wickets and clinched the series by 2-0 as the team chased the total of 190 runs. MS Dhoni yesterday displayed a vintage version of himself and now has 352 sixes across all formats from 526 international matches. With this, Dhoni occupies the fourth position in terms of the number of sixes hit in international cricket. Chris Gayle sits at the top of the list with 506 sixes. Shahid Afridi sits on number two with 476 sixes. New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum sits on number three with 398 sixes. MS Dhoni is on number four with 352 sixes and Sanath Jayasuriya also has the same number of maximums. However, Jayasuriya’s 352 sixes have come from 651 matches as opposed to Dhoni from 515 games.

Talking about the match yesterday, the Indian team put up the score of 190 runs on the board for the opponents. KL Rahul’s 47, Virat Kohli’s 72 and MS Dhoni’s 40 went in vain as Glenn Maxwell threw a wet blanket by scoring 113 runs from 55 runs. The Aussie batsman took the team to the finishing line and remained not out. Maxwell hit seven fours and nine sixes in the course of his innings.
