During second India vs Windies One-Day International (ODI), Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of fastest to 10,000 runs. Tendulkar took 259 innings to reach the 10,000 ODI runs while Kohli achieved the feat in just 205 innings. At the start of second ODI, Kohli needed 81 more runs to reach the landmark. Kohli now becomes the only 13th international cricketer to reach the 10,000 runs in ODIs. He also happens to be the fifth Indian batsman after Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni to reach the landmark.

Kohli (29 years 353 days) also becomes the second youngest to reach the 10,000 runs in ODIs. Tendulkar, who achieved the feat at the age of 27 years and 341 days still remains the youngest. Meanwhile, Kohli also is fastest to 10,000 ODI runs since making his debut, breaking Dravid’s record. Meanwhile, Twitterati were in a frenzy as Kohli achieved yet another milestone. The reactions started pouring in the moment Kohli hit his 10,000th run in ODIs.

India currently lead the five-match series 1-0. The home side won the opening ODI by eight wickets after Kohli and Rohit Sharma smashed centuries each. Meanwhile, at the time of writing this report, Kohli completed his second consecutive century against Windies. This is Kohli's 37th century in ODIs.
