India started their campaign in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 by taking on Pakistan in the opening match. India secured a victory by a margin of two runs via the DLS method. India and Pakistan were drafted in the same group alongside Kuwait. Earlier, Pakistan kickstarted their campaign by defeating Kuwait. Now with India winning, India and Pakistan are the favourites for advancing to the quarterfinals from Pool C. The 12 teams are divided into four pools of three, playing a single round-robin in the group stage. The top two teams from each pool advance to the quarterfinals. The Hong Kong Sixes is played in a six-over format with six players per side. Robin Uthappa scored 28 runs and Bharat Chipli scored 24 runs as India posted a total of 86 runs on board. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten after scoring 17 runs. Pakistan had a good start in the run-chase, but rain arrived and play was stopped after the third over, as they got to 41/1. In the end, India secured a two-run win via DLS method. Amid all this, none forgot that it was an India-Pakistan match and just like the recent Asia Cup 2025, no handshake took place between the two sides.
