Fakhar Zaman could well make his Test debut in the second Test between England and Pakistan at Headingley, Leeds. Middle-order batsman Babar Azam was ruled out after he suffered a fracture in his forearm while batting in the Lord’s Test and that could provide Fakhar with an opportunity. The hard-hitting left-hander surprisingly received his maiden Test call for Ireland and England tour but is yet to feature in the playing XI. The opener is working hard in the nets and interestingly was made to do 20 press-ups after playing a false shot during a practice session.

Saj Sadiq, a senior editor at PakPassion.net, tweeted a photo of Fakhar doing the press-ups. Not only press-ups, Fakhar was made to run in the nets as well. Coach Mickey Arthur has been instrumental in Pakistan’s recent success and he seems to be working hard with the players. Ramiz Raja: Smart Watch Controversy Needless.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will be looking to clinch the two-match series against England after winning the opening Test at Lord’s. Pakistan dished out an impressive performance to win the first Test by nine wickets.

Mohammad Abbas was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped eight wickets (four in each innings) in the Test. Hassan Ali and Mohammad Amir picked four wickets in the first and second innings respectively. Pakistan batsmen also looked in good touch with Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq and Shadab Khan scoring half-centuries after bundling out England for just 184 in their first innings.
