Rohit Sharma has equalled with MS Dhoni’s record of most sixes for India in One-One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The Indian opener achieved the feat during the third ODI between India and New Zealand at the bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Rohit at the start of the match needed two maximum hits to equal with the former captain’s record of 215 sixes. Dhoni overall has slammed 222 sixes which includes seven for Asia XI against Africa XI in three matches during the Afro-Asia Cup in 2007.

Meanwhile, Rohit now has 215 sixes against his name from 193 innings. Rohit and Dhoni are currently at numero uno spot with Sachin Tendulkar (195), Sourav Ganguly (189) and out of favour middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh (153) at number two, three and four respectively. MS Dhoni Misses an ODI Match for the First Time in Six Years Due to a Sore Hamstring
