Rohit, who also can overtake Virat Kohli to become the highest run-scorer in T20Is, has now played 99 Twenty20 internationals overtaking former Indian captain Dhoni's record of 98 T20Is. Pakistan's Shoaib Malik is the highest-capped T20I player with 111 Twenty20 Internationals appearances, while Shahid Afridi with 99 matches is second in the list. Rohit, who made his T20I debut in 2007, moved to the third place on the list of players with most T20I appearances after Pakistan's Shoaib Malik (111) and Shahid Afridi (99). Meanwhile, on Sunday, Rohit could also break Virat Kohli's record for most runs scored in T20I cricket. Rohit is currently seven runs behind Kohli's tally. Rohit had earlier captained India to the Asia Cup victory last year when Kohli was rested.
