Ten Doeschate's new mandate is comprehensive, encompassing critical aspects of team building and performance. He will be responsible for spearheading the strategic direction for scouting, player recruitment, squad planning, and performance evaluation across the entire Knight Riders network. This network includes the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Kolkata Knight Riders, the Caribbean Premier League's (CPL) Trinbago Knight Riders, the International League T20's (ILT20) Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, and Major League Cricket's (MLC) Los Angeles Knight Riders.
A Strategic Return to Familiar Territory
This appointment comes just days after Ten Doeschate stepped down from his role as India's men's assistant coach, a position he held under head coach Gautam Gambhir. During his tenure with the Indian team, he was part of the coaching group that guided India to the 2025 Asia Cup title and a successful defence of the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup. His prior association with the Knight Riders is extensive and successful.
