However, Virat Kohli’s century went in a vain as the second ODI match ended up with a tie. After winning the toss, the Indians had elected to bat first and put up the total of 321 runs for the visitors. It was Shai Hope from the Windies who displayed character by scoring 123 runs off 134 balls. After the match ended with a tie Virat Kohli hailed the performance of the Windies for the tough fight put up by them. Virat said, “Pretty proud of my innings and my milestone [10,000 runs]. It's something that we decided pre-game. Everyone was of the opinion we wanted to bat first because it was hot and humid and also in the big games, in world cups, you might have to put runs on the board and defend. The pitch was drastically different in the second innings.”
