He walked out to bat after India lost the wicket of opener Shikhar Dhawan on the score of 28. Rohit and Kohli put up a stunning partnership of 113 runs on the board and gave India a much-needed respite. Kohli and Sharma both got out and in the end, it was Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu who took India to the finishing line by jointly contributing 77 runs. Ambati Rayudu scored 40 runs from 42 deliveries and Karthik made 38 runs from the same number of balls. Virat Kohli has been rested for rest of the two matches and the upcoming T20I series as well. The decision was taken keeping in mind the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
