Soon after the BCCI lifted the ban on Hardik Pandya after Koffee With Karan 6 fiasco, the Indian all-rounder joined the team and was including in the playing XI for the 3rd ODI against New Zealand at the Oval Bay in Mount Maunganui. The all-rounder even picked a couple of wickets and looked in form after being included in the squad. He also took a stunning catch and sent Kane Williamson packing to the pavilion. Pandya bowled a short delivery to Ross Taylor and the Kiwi batsman pulled it to short mid-wicket. Dhawan was the man in the same position collected the ball but lost his balance and threw the ball away from the fielders. After the match, Virat Kohli said, “Amazing, three clinical games from us, the relentlessness of the side pleasing. Haven't had a break for a while, hectic Australia tour and now this. We are three-nil up so I can relax a little. Some outstanding talent coming through. Saw Shubman batting in the nets, I wasn't even 10 percent of that at 19.”
