David De Gea’s career with Manchester United is becoming increasingly decorated. Not very long ago did David walk away with Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award for 2017/18 and now the Spaniard has added one more feather to his hat. The United stopper has won his first Golden Glove Award and is obviously excited about the same.

After the game with West Ham, David bagged his 18th clean sheet. The match ended with a draw and the final scores were 0-0.  “It feels good, it is my first Golden Glove award. I am really happy for that. It means we defended well in this league, I am happy for me and happy for the team. It is for everyone, it is a team award, not just for the goalkeeper. It's good for me but I am also happy for the team,” said David to MUTV after the match.

The official handle of Manchester United also congratulated David De Gea on his achievement. Their Twitter post read, “An 18th @PremierLeague clean sheet of the season for @D_DeGea means that our no. 1⃣ has claimed the Golden Glove award! 🏆Congratulations, David! #DaveSaves 🎉.”

"David has been terrific. But the Golden Glove is about the team and not about somebody analyzing the goalkeeper, and deciding this is the best goalkeeper of the Premier League. It is about clean sheets and they are on the team. Obviously, we are all very happy for David and it is a great team achievement,” said Jose Mourinho.
