The Indian Women Table Tennis contingent, Manika Batra, Madhurika Patkar and Mouma Das scripted history after they defeated Singapore by 3-1 at the Commonwealth Games 2018. The Indians displayed nerves of steel at the Gold Coast as they fought hard through the match. Manika Batra recorded a victory against world no 4 Singaporean Mengyu Yu. With this India’s medal tally rushes to 12.

She scored 11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7 victory over World No. 4 Tianwei Feng to hand India 1-0 lead. in the second match, she stunned Yihan Zhou in straight games by scoring 11-7, 11-4,11-7  bagging gold for India. Talking about the doubles pair, Mouma Das and Madhurika Patkar took away the lead once again for India defeating Yihan Zhou and Mengyu Yu 11-7, 11-6, 8-11, 11-7.

India so far has had a great day at the Commonwealth Games 2018. A while ago, the Indian Hockey Mens’ Team defeated Wales by 4-3 and even the women’s team stunned Olympic winners England this morning. Shooter Ravi Kumar clinched a bronze medal in Men’s 10m Air Rifle Event with 224.1 points, Punam Yadav bagged a gold medal and lifted combined total of 222kg - 100kg snatch and 122kg clean and jerk. Also, Manu Bhaker added another Gold medal and Heena Sidhu bagged a Silver medal in Women's 10m Air Pistol Event. Manu finished with a score of 240.9, while Heena bagged 234.0 points. With weightlifter Vikas Thakur clinching a bronze medal, India now has 12 medals to its tally (7 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze).
