Murali Vijay and Karun Nair have been in the news for the past few days. Both cricketers had mentioned to the media that there was no communication from the selectors after they were dropped from the squads. Now, these statements have not gone down well with the BCCI and the body could question both the cricketers for breaching the Central Contract. The matter could be raised in the COA meeting which is supposed to be held in Hyderabad on October 11. Chief Selector MSK Prasad said that it was not right for the players to speak to the media about the selection policy. A BCCI official spoke to PTI on the condition of anonymity and said, “That is a breach of central contract. As per the central contract, no player can speak about a just-concluded tour for 30 days. Chief selector MSK Prasad rubbished the claims of Murali Vijay who said that no one from the selection committee spoke to him post getting dropped. This morning we told you that Indian speedster Umesh Yadav backed the team management and said that he was told about the reason for being dropped from the squad. “If someone makes you sit out for 35-40 Tests then the selectors have to explain to you the reason for the same. So that communication is there,” said Yadav to a leading cricket news website.
