There were a lot of speculations of Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming out of retirement and donning the national colours of Sweden once again for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018 which is scheduled to happen in Russia next month. But the Sweden coach Janne Andersson named a 23-man World Cup and squashed all the hopes of ex-Man United being featured in the national squad. It was when Sweden beat Italy in the World Cup playoffs in November last year it was speculated that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would come back.

While declaring the squad, Janne said, “I can only pick 23 players for the World Cup. How much I wish I could bring 24 or more. It’s been very emotional for me, as I have called the players who didn’t make the squad. It was hard.”
