Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Roger Federer in the ATP Tour 2019 semi-final clash and booked his seat in the final. Tsitsipas, who was playing his debut ATP Tour 2019 tennis tournament, went past Federer in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. He will now face the winner of Dominic Thiem vs Alexander Zverev match. Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev are pitted in the other semi-final, scheduled to take place later on Saturday. ATP Finals 2019 tennis tournament is played between the top eight ranked players in a round-robin format. While Federer entered the tennis tournament as a third-ranked tennis player in ATP rankings, Stefanos Tsitsipas qualified with the sixth rank in men's singles. Earlier, Federer lost the opening match against Dominic Thiem 7-5, 7-5. However, the Swiss tennis legend bounced back to win two matches in ATP Finals 2019. Federer outclassed Matteo Berrettini 7-6, 6-3 and Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-3 to make way into semis.

Talking about Stefanos Tsitsipas, he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the opening match 7-6, 6-4. He again defeated Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-2 before losing to Rafael Nadal in the third group stage match 6-7, 6-4.  Tsitsipas had reached the quarter-final in Paris Masters 2019 earlier, where he had lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets. In Swiss Indoors 2019, he had lost to Roger Federer in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. However, he successfully avenged his defeat to Roger Federer in ATP Finals 2019 semi-final match.
