Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal - and vice versa - is one of the fiercest rivalries in Tennis’ history. Both have encountered each other on several occasions in Grand Slams and ATP Tours, giving fans the taste of many classics, like the 2008 Wimbledon final. But the Swiss-Spanish Tennis duo shares a great bond with each other despite the rich history of their rivalries. And one glimpse of the friendships “Fedal” share was seen on the opening day of Laver Cup 2019. In a short video clip shared on social media, Nadal and Federer, along with their Team Europe mates, can be seen sitting together and engrossed in watching a Tennis game. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal Post Lovely Group Photos With Team Europe Members Ahead of Laver Cup 2019.

In a short video clip shared by a user on social media, Federer and Nadal can be seen sitting beside each other and watching a Tennis game. The two greats of this generation – and arguably two of all-time Tennis greats – are engrossed in watching a Tennis game, the same game they have ruled for over a decade. “Watching tennis players watch a tennis match is actually really fun,” the user captioned the post drawing some hilarious reactions from fans on the post.

When Tennis Players Turned Fans

Federer and Nadal were possibly watching Dominic Thiem take on Denis Shapovalov in the opening match of Laver Cup 2019. French Open runner-up Thiem is part of Team Europe, which also includes Federer and Nadal, while Shapovalov is part of Team World led by John McEnroe. Thiem beat Shapovalov 6/4, 5/7, 13/11 to give defending champions Team Europe a perfect start at Laver Cup 2019.

The "Fedal" Coaching Session

Meanwhile, Fedal were also seen partnering to give Europe teammate Fabio Fognini some coaching advice during his singles match against Team World’s Jack Sock. But their advice proved little help as Fogini lost 1/6, 6/7 (3-7) in straight sets to Jock to help Team World level the scores. But Federer later partnered with Stefanos Tsitsipas to regain the lead and make it 2-1 to Team Europe at the end of the opening day of Laver Cup 2019.
