Saraya-Jade Bevis, ring-name Paige, currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) shocked fans when she announced her retirement on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, on April 9. The WWE Diva suffered a breakdown while giving her retirement speech in the same city where she had debuted, in New Orleans, in the year 2014. Paige was all teary-eyed when she said that she will no longer be able to compete in the WWE ring, owing to injury concerns.

Four years ago, in the year 2014, it was the city of New Orleans that saw Paige’s debut, and on the same night she went on to become the WWE Divas Champion. Paige became the youngest champion to win the WWE Divas Championship. Paige was only 21 when she clinched the Divas title; her record feat saw her become the youngest wrestler (be it male or female) in the WWE.

Life came a full circle for Paige, as she announced her retirement and that too in New Orleans. Paige was currently working as the manager of newly-formed Divas tag-team – ‘Absolution’. Talking to the WWE Universe about her retirement, Paige said, “I would like to thank every female superstar in the back (company), and that I am proud to be a part of this division. I also thank Daniel Bryan as he returned from a career-threatening injury and competed in Wrestlemania, a night before, for that, it gives me hope.”

Fans in the crowd started chants of 'Thank You Paige' and 'This Is Your House' as Paige thanked them for being such a sport during her career. She leaves a t-shirt in the middle of the ring and signs-off by saying “And yeah, this will always be my house.”

The episode of Monday Night RAW after the Wrestlemania Pay-per-View (PPV) is well-known for such shocking announcements and surprising returns in the WWE Company. Last night, in a surprise, Bobby Lashley returned to WWE and indulged in a feud with Elias. With WWE, one can never say never; for now, we wish the fiery WWE Diva, Paige, a happy and quick recovery!
