After launching BlackBerry Key2, Optiemus Infracom launched two new smartphones in the Evolve range in India. Dubbed as BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X, the devices come with full touchscreen display, unlike Key2 that features a QWERTY keypad. Priced at Rs. 24,990, the BlackBerry Evolve comes with a square-shaped fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, Evolve X retails at Rs. 34,990 and comes with a circular fingerprint sensor.

As far as the availability is concerned, the new BlackBerry Evolve is expected to go on sale by next month exclusively via Amazon, while the Evolve X version will be put on sale by the end of this month. Moreover, the company will also be providing several launch offers including cashback from Reliance Jio of Rs. 3450 and 5 per cent cashback on EMI transactions from ICICI credit cards. Both the devices come with full touchscreen display featuring an aspect ratio of 18:9 and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Moreover, the handsets also come with security and privacy features as seen on other BlackBerry devices. They also come with BlackBerry’s DTEK security application, which is pre-installed.

Both the devices come packed with 5.99-inch displays with 1080x2160 pixels resolution. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo, the smartphones are also equipped with Dolby Atmos for audio. The key areas where both the devices differ are under the hood. The BlackBerry Evolve is powered by Snapdragon's 450 SoC while Evolve X is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset. The Evolve smartphone is fitted with 4GB of RAM while Evolve X comes with a bigger RAM of 6GB. On the storage front, the devices are offered with the same 64GB of inbuilt capacity that can be expanded further up to 256GB via a microSD card. Both the devices are backed by a 4,000mAh battery supporting Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0. For optics, the new BlackBerry Evolve X handset is fitted with dual rear cameras of 12MP and 13MP sensors while Evolve also features dual cameras comprising of 13MP sensors. Both the devices sport a 16MP snapper upfront with fixed focus and LED flash.
