Gemini Watermark Toggle: Google's Chatbot Users Can Now Remove Visible AI Marks on Content; Know How It Works
Google has added a toggle allowing users to turn visible watermarks on or off in Gemini and Flow for images, videos and songs. Invisible SynthID and C2PA markers remain for detection. The company is also open sourcing the Credentio library for content credentials. Search support is coming next.
Google has introduced a setting that allows users to toggle visible watermarks on or off for content generated in Gemini and Flow. The change covers images from Nano Banana, videos from Omni and songs from Lyria, except in countries where visible watermarks are required by law. Support for Search is expected next.
Gemini Watermark Toggle Details
Josh Woodward, VP at Google, announced that the option addresses long standing user feedback. Visible watermarks can now be disabled for greater creative control. Google Open Sources Credentio Library

The update balances user preferences with safety requirements. It follows earlier feedback ranking the removal of visible watermarks among top requests for Gemini improvements.
