Realme, a sub-brand of Oppo has launched the new Realme 1 smartphone in India today at Rs. 8,999. The smartphone is targetted for the younger audience that will be retailed exclusively via e-commerce giant - Amazon India. The smartphone is offered in 3 variants - 3GB, 4GB and 6GB. The newly launched Realme 1 smartphone comes with the similar glossy diamond cut design as seen on the models like Oppo F7 and Oppo A3. Touted as premium mid-range smartphone brand, Oppo's sub-brand will comprise of smartphone in between the range of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. However, the company can introduce premium products in the future. The smartphone which is a 'Made in India' product will come in 3 colours Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red.

Coming to the specifications, the newly launched Realme 1 smartphone comes powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset clocked up to 2GHz along with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of inbuilt storage. It runs on ColorOS 5.0 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo with an India-specific theme. The smartphone carries a 6-inch full-HD+ display panel with 1080x2160 pixels resolution with 84.75 percent of screen-to-body ratio.

Other noteable features on the smartphone are dual 4G VoLTE support, 3410mAh battery, 158 grams of weight, Face Unlock feature and much more. For optics, the smartphone features 13MP rear camera with dedicated LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera.

As far as the prices are concerned, the entry level variant - 3GB RAM/32GB storage is priced at Rs. 8,990, while the 4GB/64GB storage version gets a price tag of Rs. 10,990. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line variant with 6GB/128GB storage is made available at Rs. 13,990. The smartphone will go on its first sale exclusively via Amazon India on May 25 at 12pm wherein only 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will be made available. However, the company has confirmed that the remaining 3GB and 4GB variants will be made available for sale later next month.
