Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A18 4G has been detailed in a major leak, revealing its design, key specifications, software support and expected pricing ahead of an official announcement. The budget smartphone is expected to retain much of the hardware of its predecessor, the Galaxy A17 4G, while receiving improvements in durability and software support, according to a report.

According to the latest leaked information, the Galaxy A18 4G could feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, MediaTek's Helio G99 chipset, a 50MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery. Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the device or announced its launch date. Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Spotted on Geekbench With Android 17 and Helio G99.

Familiar design revealed in leaked renders

Leaked renders show the Galaxy A18 4G from multiple angles, with the handset retaining a design similar to the Galaxy A17 4G. The phone is expected to feature a waterdrop-style notch on the front and a vertically arranged triple-camera system at the rear. The renders suggest Samsung will make only limited design changes to its entry-level Galaxy A-series model.

The handset is reportedly expected to be available in Black, Light Blue and Silver colour options. Storage variants could include 128GB and 256GB models. Samsung Galaxy S28 Ultra Leaks, Launch Date and Expected Specs; Check All Here.

AMOLED display and Helio G99 chipset expected

The Galaxy A18 4G is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, the phone is expected to use the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. The processor is the same one used in the Galaxy A17 4G, suggesting that the new model may not offer a significant improvement in processing performance. The device is also expected to support expandable storage of up to 2TB through a microSD card slot.

Triple cameras and 5,000mAh battery

According to the leak, the Galaxy A18 4G could retain a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The system is expected to include a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The phone is also tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Connectivity options are expected to include 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3 and a USB Type-C port.

Android 17 and extended software support

One of the more notable changes could be the software support. The Galaxy A18 4G is expected to launch with Android 17-based One UI 9.0. The leak suggests Samsung could provide up to six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which would be a significant commitment for a phone in this segment.

Improved IP64 durability rating

The Galaxy A18 4G is also expected to receive an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, improving on the IP54 rating of its predecessor. The leaked dimensions put the handset at 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7mm, with a weight of 193 grams.

Expected €299 price raises questions

The biggest surprise in the leak is the reported starting price of €299. If accurate, this would make the Galaxy A18 4G around €100 more expensive than the Galaxy A17 4G at launch.

The reported price increase could be significant given that the new phone appears to retain several core hardware components from its predecessor. However, final pricing is likely to vary across markets, and Samsung has not yet announced an India price.

Official launch awaited

Samsung has yet to officially unveil the Galaxy A18 4G, and the leaked specifications and pricing remain subject to confirmation. A Galaxy A18 5G variant is also reportedly in development and could arrive a few weeks after the 4G model. For now, the latest leaks suggest that Samsung's next budget Galaxy phone will focus on improved durability, longer software support and familiar hardware rather than a major performance upgrade.
