Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Price Hiked by INR 8,000 1 Week After Launch
Samsung has increased the price of the Galaxy M47 5G in India by up to INR 8,000 just one week after its 4 July launch. The base model now retails at INR 32,999, with other variants seeing similar hikes. The abrupt change has sparked debate over the firm's pricing strategy versus market costs.
The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G has experienced a significant price increase in India just one week after its market debut. Initially released on 4 July, the smartphone is now listed at a substantially higher cost on Amazon India than the rates offered during its launch period.
Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Price Hiked Across Variants
The base 6GB/128GB variant, which launched at an effective price of INR 22,999, is now retailing for INR 32,999. As per a report by Gizmochina, other configurations have seen even steeper adjustments. The 8GB/128GB model has risen to INR 36,999 from its launch price of INR 25,999, while the top-end 8GB/256GB variant is now listed at INR 41,999, up from its starting price of INR 30,999.
While rising memory costs have led other manufacturers such as Nothing, Realme, and Xiaomi to increase the prices of established models, the timing of Samsung's move has drawn scrutiny. The Market observers have noted that components and manufacturing costs would have been known to Samsung at the time of the initial launch. This rapid escalation has prompted discussions regarding whether the initial lower pricing was intended as a limited-time incentive to attract early adopters.
The sudden adjustment for a device that has been on the market for only seven days is unconventional for the smartphone industry. As companies continue to navigate volatile supply chain costs, this strategy marks a departure from standard practices where launch-week pricing is generally maintained for a longer period. Consumers and analysts remain focused on how such price shifts may influence the broader competitive landscape for mid-range 5G handsets in India.
