Samsung India will be launching the new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in India today at an event in Delhi. The newest flagship phone from Samsung was launched globally earlier this month at its unpacked event in New York. The smartphone is already available for pre-orders in India with a starting price of Rs 67,900. The new flagship device from Korean smartphone maker will be made available in 2 variants - 6GB and 8GB. Touted as better than its predecessor, the new Galaxy Note 9 will be launched in India today at 12.30 PM IST. As far as the specifications go, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with 2960X1440 pixels of resolution. The North America and China spec models gets Snapdragon 845 SoC, while the smartphone for other markets including India comes powered by newly developed in-house Exynos 9810 chipset. The new chipset from Samsung is mated to a ARM Mali-G72 GPU along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB on inbuilt storage. The internal storage on the Galaxy Note 9 can be increased up to 1TB using microSD card on the top-end variant (8GB RAM). Coming to the camera department, the new Galaxy Note 9 continues to sport dual camera module at the back as seen on the predecessor. The camera setup features dual 12MP sensors with optical image stabilization (OIS) along with software enhancements offering AI-powered scene recognition. At the front, the smartphone packs an 8MP sensor for taking selfies and making video calling, which also comes with several enhanced modes for portrait pictures.

The smartphone is offered in 2 variants wherein the 6GB RAM version comes with 128GB of internal storage while the 8GB RAM model gets 512GB of inbuilt storage. A major improvement over the Note 8 and S9+ is that Galaxy Note 9 now comes with a bigger capacity battery of 4000 mAh, which is claimed to proffer full day use. The connectivity options on the Galaxy Note 9 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, USB Type-C charging port, NFC, GLONASS, GPS, A-GPS and more. Lastly coming to the prices, the entry level variant of Galaxy Note 9 will be priced at Rs. 67,900 whereas the 8GB model of the new Note 9 will cost Rs. 84,900. The smartphone will be offered in 3 shades - Lavender Purple, Metallic Copper and Midnight Black.
