Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi will be hosting an event on August 29 wherein the company will be launching its first TV in the home market. This piece of information has been confirmed by Xiaomi's CEO - Lei Jun through a post on Weibo. The CEO shared a poster of the Redmi TV launch on his Weibo account. It is also speculated that the company could launch the successor to Redmi Note 7 on the same day itself. The launch date of Redmi Note 8 was also confirmed by Lei Jun when someone asked if the company will be launching the smartphone alongside the 70-inch Redmi TV. The CEO gave confirmation by replying with a thumbs up emoji. Now, this confirms the arrival of Redmi Note 8 on August 29. Xiaomi is Working on 108-megapixel Camera Phone.
A proper announcement is expected soon wherein the company could tease the smartphone. As per Lei Jun, Redmi Note 8 will sport better cameras, bigger battery and higher screen-to-body ratio as compared to the previous version. As of now, there are no details available about the design and specifications of the phone. It is speculated that the company might incorporate a 64MP sensor on the new Redmi Note 8. Under the hood, the phone could be powered by MediaTek's new Helio G90T chipset. It is also rumoured that the Redmi Note 8 could be introduced with siblings - Redmi 8 or Redmi 8A.
