The Brigade's Control Room received the first of more than 70 calls reporting the fire at 11:34 am. London Fire: Firefighters Deploy Specialist Equipment
Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene. Three of the Brigade's 32m ladders have been deployed as part of the response, alongside the Brigade's Drone Team.
Firefighters have also deployed a Hose Laying Unit and High Volume Pump. The equipment is intended to increase the amount of water available to crews as they work to bring the fire under control. Residents Urged To Avoid Area
The London Fire Brigade has urged people in the immediate area to avoid the vicinity of the fire. Residents near Hannah Close have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed because of the heavy smoke. The smoke has reportedly been visible from areas around Wembley Stadium and from parts of central London.
London Tube Services Disrupted
The fire has also caused significant disruption to public transport services in the area. Transport for London said the entire Metropolitan line has been suspended because of the incident.
The Jubilee line has been partially suspended between Willesden Green and Wembley Park as emergency crews respond to the fire. Passengers have been advised to check before travelling and allow additional time for journeys.
