Mumbai, January 23: Donald Trump has addressed fresh speculation surrounding a visible bruise on his left hand after questions arose during his return journey from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the US President brushed aside health concerns and offered a straightforward explanation, saying the mark was caused by a minor accident.

“I clipped it on the table,” Trump said, adding that he applied some cream afterward and was feeling fine following the flight. “I’m very good,” he told reporters, dismissing any suggestion that the bruise was linked to a serious medical issue.

Trump also attributed the bruising to his regular intake of aspirin, explaining that higher doses can make him more prone to marks and discoloration. “I take the big aspirin. When you take the big aspirin, they tell you, you bruise,” he said. According to Trump, his doctor has advised that such a high dose may not be necessary, but the President said he prefers not to take risks when it comes to his health. US President Donald Trump Dispels Health Rumours, Hits Golf Course in Virginia (See Pic).

Earlier, the White House had issued a formal clarification on the injury. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump injured his hand during a Board of Peace signing ceremony in Davos. “President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise,” she said. Footage from the event showed little to no visible bruising at the start of the ceremony, though the mark appeared more noticeable later. Donald Trump Rolls Out His Board of Peace at Davos, Many Top US Allies Not Participating (Watch Video).

Bruising on Trump’s hands has attracted attention in the past, with occasional appearances of makeup or bandages prompting online speculation. In recent years, Trump’s health has remained under public scrutiny, particularly after the White House disclosed in 2025 that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and manageable condition in older adults.

The White House has repeatedly rejected unverified claims about more serious health issues, maintaining that Trump remains in excellent health following comprehensive medical evaluations.
