AI171 Crash Survivor Vishwash Kumar Ramesh Arrested for Placing ‘Something’ Beneath Air India-Operated Boeing 787 Aircraft? Here’s a Fact Check

A viral video falsely claims that Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the Air India (AI171) plane crash in Ahmedabad, has been arrested. The video, shared by an Instagram page named “Aviation Spotting,” alleges that Ramesh was involved in the crash and was taken into custody after being found in possession of suspicious materials. It also claims that Ramesh was emotionless upon hearing of his brother’s death in the accident that killed 241 people. However, this claim is completely fake. Ahmedabad Police, through Additional Commissioner Jaipal Singh Rathore, have officially confirmed that Ramesh has not been arrested and is not under any investigation.
