India observes the 101st birth anniversary of the Marshal of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Arjan Singh, Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). The decorated officer served as the Chief of the Indian Air Staff from 1964 to 1969. Marshal of the IAF Arjan Singh was born on April 15, 1919, in Lyallpur, Faisalabad which is now part of Pakistan. He was the first IAF officer who was promoted to the five-star rank of Marshal of the Air Force.
