A BJP youth leader was arrested on February 19Â in Bengal's Kolkata for allegedly carrying 100 gm of cocaine. In dramatic developments, Pamela Goswami, General Secretary of Bengal BJP Yuva Morcha, was arrested for possession of cocaine worth a few lakhs found in her purse & under the seat of the car she was in. Her friend & colleague in the Yuva Morcha, Prabir Kumar Dey, who was in the car was, also arrested. She has been sent to police custody till February 25. When Goswami got down from a car at a local court, she frantically shouted at reporters that BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya's aide Rakesh Singh was involved in the drugs case. Vijayvargiya is also BJP's in-charge of West Bengal, where election will be held soon. Reportedly, Goswami & Prabir came under the scanner after they were spotted repeatedly visiting a particular cafe, sitting in the parked car & transacting with youth who drove up to the car on motorcycles. Goswami is believed to have worked as an air hostess, a model & TV serial actor before she joined the BJP in 2019.
