Cami Clark, the wife of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, approached Jeffrey Epstein more than a decade ago seeking investment for a women-focused adult entertainment venture, according to emails from the Epstein files reviewed in reporting by The Wall Street Journal. The correspondence shows Clark shared details of the business and later asked Epstein about investing, but there is no indication that he ultimately provided funding.

The revelations have also brought renewed attention to Clark’s largely private profile and her reported behind-the-scenes role as an adviser and sounding board to Amodei, despite having no formal position at Anthropic. Did Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s Wife Cami Clark Seek Fund From Jeffrey Epstein for Her 'Luxury P*rn Company' After His 2008 Conviction?.

Clark’s Contact With Epstein

Clark was introduced to Epstein in March 2011 by literary agent John Brockman, who connected him with Clark and her business partner Michelle Capocefalo.

According to the reported emails, Clark subsequently met Epstein and sent him material related to her venture, including scripts and treatments for planned films. She described the company as a women-focused venture and later referred to it as a “free luxury p*rn company.” In March 2012, Clark contacted Epstein again to ask whether he would be interested in investing in businesses she was developing with a colleague. Epstein Files: Jeffrey Epstein Revelations Toppled Top Figures in Europe While US Fallout More Muted.

The correspondence does not indicate that Epstein invested. In another exchange, Epstein reportedly responded that he could not participate in “TV s*x.” Clark later invited Epstein to a housewarming party in 2012. The reported emails do not establish that the two met again in person after their initial meeting.

Who Is Cami Clark?

Cami Clark is an entrepreneur who has largely maintained a low public profile despite her connections to prominent figures in Silicon Valley. Clark was born in Reno, Nevada, in 1979. Her early career included work in real estate and entrepreneurship, followed by ventures focused on adult entertainment and women's health technology.

Around 2010, she co-founded Eddice with Michelle Capocefalo. The company described itself as a women-focused “revolutionary porn company” and sought to promote a different approach to adult entertainment. The venture attempted to raise money for its website and planned films.

Clark later pursued other business projects, including a venture connected to women's health and technology. Her career also brought her into Silicon Valley's investor and technology circles.

Relationship With Dario Amodei

Clark met Dario Amodei in 2014, when he was working as a researcher. The two later married in 2022. Before her relationship with Amodei, Clark dated former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt. According to the reported accounts, she later introduced Amodei to Schmidt, who became an important early backer of Anthropic.

Schmidt participated in Anthropic's $124 million Series A funding round announced in 2021, helping establish the company as a significant player in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence industry.

Clark’s Reported Role Around Anthropic

Clark does not officially work for Anthropic, but The Wall Street Journal has described her as a sounding board and strategic adviser to Amodei. She has accompanied him to major technology and business events and has reportedly interacted with investors and other influential figures on the company's behalf. She was also with Amodei during his visit to the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi earlier this year.

Her reported influence has attracted attention because Anthropic has grown into one of the world's most prominent AI companies, with its Claude chatbot competing with other leading generative AI systems.

No Evidence of Epstein Investment

The reported correspondence establishes that Clark sought Epstein's interest in her businesses, but the available emails do not show that he invested in the ventures. The contact occurred after Epstein's 2008 conviction in Florida for soliciting prostitution, after which he was required to register as a sex offender. The reporting reviewed here does not allege that Clark participated in Epstein's criminal activities or establish that she was accused of wrongdoing.

The disclosures instead concern Clark's business dealings and her communications with Epstein, as well as the broader questions surrounding her subsequent role in the professional network of Anthropic's chief executive.
