According to a statement released by CENTCOM, the primary objective of the latest engagement is to degrade specific Iranian military assets. The U.S. military stated that these capabilities have been actively utilized to target commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global choke point for energy trade.
