Dubai, March 6: Missile threat alerts blared across the mobile phones of Dubai residents on Friday, marking a sharp escalation in regional hostilities as the United Arab Emirates intercepted a massive wave of ballistic missiles and drones. The emergency notifications, accompanied by high-pitched sirens, instructed the public to "seek immediate shelter in the closest secure building" and stay away from glass windows. The "all-clear" was issued roughly an hour later, following what has become the most intense period of aerial threats since the conflict began six days ago.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, air defense systems successfully neutralized six out of seven ballistic missiles and 125 out of 131 drones detected over the last 24 hours. While the majority were intercepted mid-air, authorities confirmed that one missile and six drones landed within UAE territory. This latest barrage brings the total number of threats detected over the past week to nearly 200 missiles and over 1,000 drones, linked to the broader confrontation involving Iran, the U.S., and Israel.
