SpaceX’s Falcon heavy rocket with Elon Musk’s red Tesla sports car is currently on a lazy journey around the Sun. But its flight path is expected to collide with the planet in 2091. The car was launched as CEO Elon Musk’s first successful and most powerful rocket. It is planned to be on an oval orbit around the Sun. According to astrophysicists the car was headed to a different route and will crash into Earth. Hanno Rein of the University of Toronto was quoted in a media report saying, “The Tesla will likely impact the Earth within a few tens of millions of years.”

Elon Musk tweeted soon after the launch that the car passed the path by a few points and was instead headed into the different belt. Rein and his collaborators has recently decided to spin the body’s orbit forward by several million years to see which paths the car takes as it rings around the sun. While it is little complicated to regulate the car’s future path with accuracy, scientists believe if run enough simulations, they can see which ultimate outcomes are most likely to occur. The team says that the Roadster only has a few tens of millions of years to live.

The car’s next close encounter with Earth will occur in 2019, when it will be within one lunar distance of our planet. Since it is not large enough, the car’s reflectance may even be easily visible using the right kind of telescope. Reign was quoted in a report of National Geographic saying, “It will have a lot of close encounters with Venus and Mars. During every close encounter, it will change its orbit a little.” His team and Reign calculated that there is nearly no chance of Tesla to accidentally crash-landing on Mars. But there is a six percent chance that the sports car will crash with Earth in the next million years, leaving nearly 2.5 percent chance to collide with Venus.
