New Delhi, July 17: Hafiz Saeed, Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been arrested, Pakistan media reported.  According to Pakistani TV channels, the Lashkar-e-Taiba founder has been arrested by Counter-Terrorism Department of Punjab province while travelling from Lahore to Gujranwala and has been sent to judicial custody. Jamaat-ud-Dawah's 'Child' Soldiers: Hafiz Saeed Preparing Army of Minors to Continue Jihad Against India.

Earlier this month, the Mumbai Police had said that Saeed and 12 of his close aides will be arrested very soon. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police had registered 23 FIRs against 13 leaders of Jamat-ud-Dawah (JuD) including Saeed on the charges of terror financing in different cities of Punjab province. Mumbai Attacks Mastermind Hafiz Saeed, His Aides to Be Arrested 'Very Soon': Police.

On July 15,  Saeed and his three aides were granted pre-arrest bail by an anti-terrorism court in Pakistan in a case pertaining to the banned outfit’s illegal use of land for its seminary. Reports inform that the bail was granted in a case related to illegal use of land for the outfit’s seminary. According to Pakistan Daily, The Dawn, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore had granted interim bail to Saeed and his aides -- Hafiz Masood, Ameer Hamza, and Malik Zafar -- until August 31 against surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
