Islamabad, September 1: Former Pakistan cricket team captain Javed Miandad once again made provocative remarks against India. During a rally in Pakistan, Miandad brandished a sword while expressing solidarity with Kashmiris. The video of Miandad's provocative speech went viral on social media. In the video, Miandad was seen wearing a Pakistani cricket team’s jersey. In the video, he asked Kashmiris not to worry as Pakistani people are with them. In a veiled reference to a match at Sharjah in 1986, where Miandad hit a famous last ball six against India, he said that he hit a six with a bat and now he can kill people with a sword. However, the exact date of the video is not known. Video of Javed  Miandad's Inflammatory Speech: 

It is not the first time that Miandad made a vitriol speech against India after the Narendra Modi government scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by diluting the Article 370. Last month also, a video of the former Pakistani cricket Captain had surfaced, in which he said that Pakistan should use a nuclear bomb against India. Another former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi supported the Imran Khan government over the Kashmir issue. On Friday, Afridi addressed a rally in Pakistan’s Rojnama. He came at the event wearing a military dress to express solidarity with Kashmiri people. Earlier Pakistani cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar and Sarfaraz Nawaz also supported their government’s stand on Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 5, the Centre only scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The government also divided it into two union territories – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. After the Modi government’s move, Pakistan downgraded bilateral relations with India. The Pakistan PM also said he would be speaking on the Kashmir issue at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27.
