Islamabad, July 24: Pakistan will vote on July 25 to not just choose a new government but also a new Prime Minister. There is great excitement in Pakistan for the 2018 General Elections. Film stars, celebrities and most importantly, cricketers both present and past have been sharing messages on Twitter and appearing on TV shows, appealing to the masses to go out and cast their vote. Former Pakistani cricketer and bowling legend Wasim Akbar told a TV channel that he has come down from London to vote. Fast bowler Hassan Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Waqar Younis and Imran Khan himself, tweeted about the elections.

Hassan Ali, who is famous for his wild celebrations after picking wickets, shared a video message in which he can be seen saying, "My video, my message, is for my Pakistan. 25 July is an important day as it is election day. 25 July will decide where we want to see Pakistan in the next 5 years, ourselves and coming generations in the coming years. Former Pakistan cricket team captain Wasim Akram has openly declared support for the World Cup winning captain and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader, Imran Khan, who is widely believed to be leading the race for the top post in the country. Taking to Twitter, Wasim wrote that, "It was in your leadership skip @ImrankhanPTI that we became world champions in 1992. It is in your leadership that we can again become a great democratic country." He also shared a message with the Hashtag #VoteForKaptaan, supporting Imran Khan. Check his message in the tweet below:

"You have got what it takes Skipper @ImranKhanPTI but it will take everything you have...No one can doubt your Honesty and thats what is require in our country...An honest LEADER #BehindYouSkipper," tweeted another bowling legend who together with Wasim Akram formed the most lethal fast bowling pair of all time, Waqar Younis. Pakistani all- rounder Mohammad Hafeez, posted a picture of his kids and said in a tweet that "My kids ROSHAAN , EMAAN & AMAL Supporting @ImranKhanPTI for their & PAKISTAN 🇵🇰 better future." Check the pictures he shared, below:

Former Australian cricketer and dynamic commentator Dean Jones, replying to Wasim Akram's message wrote that, "I am not a political person... but @ImranKhanPTI I would have loved to play under.... great leader and would do well for Pakistan if given the opportunity." Check his tweet below:

And finally, Imran Khan himself had a message for Pakistan. Imran Khan, the politician and PTI Chief tweeted saying, "People of Pakistan must come out and vote tomorrow in this historic election. This is the first time in 4 decades the nation has a chance to defeat the entrenched status quo. Don’t miss this opportunity." He surely wouldn't want to miss this opportunity, as he said in a previous tweet that, "This has been the culmination of 22 years of struggle. I can honestly say I have given my best for Pakistan. Now I leave the rest to Allah." Meanwhile, many food joints and clothing brands have declared free food and massive discounts in Pakistan as incentive for voting. Anyone who comes and shows the inked finger, can avail the discounts and free food offers.
