Islamabad, August 7: Pakistan is planning to close its airspace for Indian flights again, according to a report on Times of Islamabad. Pakistan will reportedly close its airspace for Indian flights due to the escalating tension between the two countries on the Kashmir issue.

The country is taking this step as retaliation to India recently revoking Article 370 and declaring Jammu and Kashmir as Union Territory with legislature and Ladakh another UT, but without one.  After a gap of 5 months in July, Pakistan opened its air space for all type of civil traffic on published ATS (air traffic service) routes. This brought a huge respite for people flying towards the West of India. More than 800 flights use the Indian and Pakistani air space to ferry passengers from South Asia, South East Asia to Europe and North America.

Pakistan had fully closed its airspace on February 26 after the fighter jets of the Indian Air Force fighter struck a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp in Balakot following the Pulwama terror attack in Kashmir killing CRPF personnel.
