Erie Fire Department has expressed its deepest sympathies for the families of the deceased. They have shared photos of the horrible tragedy on Facebook.

Reportedly, there was only one smoke detector and the fire might have started from the living room. Had their been more smoke detectors, it would have helped the children and the people inside the house to be alert.
