Police Examine Student’s Background

Initial investigations revealed that the male student involved in the incident had previously been examined, treated, and diagnosed with: "Severe stress reaction and adjustment disorder - mixed behavioral and emotional disorders." Recently, he had shown signs of unstable psychological and emotional state.

Police said the investigation had also identified the student's repeated access to harmful content through a group on a foreign social media platform. According to the authorities, this had a negative impact on his perception and prompted him to learn how to carry out an attack.

The case is still being investigated and will be handled strictly according to the law.

Injured Students Remain Stable

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Thạnh An commune police force promptly arrived at the scene, coordinating with the school's security to subdue the male student, and simultaneously working with the local authorities to take the victims to the hospital for timely treatment.

Currently, the health of the five injured students is stable and they are continuing to receive treatment and monitoring at a medical facility.

Authorities have not indicated any further details about the identities of the injured students.

Police Warn Against Unverified Posts

In light of these developments, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department urges citizens to refrain from speculating, posting, or sharing unverified information and images, especially personal information of the students involved; and to only obtain information from official channels.

The warning comes amid the circulation of video and information about the incident online. Police have urged the public to avoid sharing material that could expose the identities or personal details of the students involved.

Parents Urged To Monitor Online Activity

At the same time, the police recommend that parents closely monitor and support their children's internet use; regularly understand their children's psychology, relationships, and the content they access online.

If they discover their children are exposed to violent or provocative content, or show signs of psychological distress, families should proactively cooperate with schools and authorities to intervene and provide timely guidance, avoiding unfortunate consequences.

The investigation into the school incident in Thạnh An Commune remains underway as authorities work to clarify the circumstances and determine responsibility.
