New Delhi, February 5: Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday announced that Warsaw will launch an investigation into possible links between late financier Jeffrey Epstein and Russian intelligence agencies, following revelations in the latest tranche of Epstein files released by the US Department of Justice.

The decision comes after newly released emails showed repeated references to Vladimir Putin, whose name appears 1,056 times, while Moscow is mentioned nearly 9,000 times across the documents. Tusk said the disclosures raise serious concerns for Poland’s national security and that of its allies. Epstein Files: S*X Offender Jeffrey Epstein Received Sacred Kaaba Cloth From UAE.

“More and more leads, more and more information, and more and more commentary in the global press all relate to the suspicion that this unprecedented paedophilia scandal was co-organised by Russian intelligence services,” Tusk said. “Information is reaching us that Jeffrey Epstein was likely a Russian spy. I don’t need to tell you how serious the increasingly likely possibility that Russian intelligence services co-organised this operation is for the security of the Polish state. This can only mean that they also possess compromising materials against many leaders still active today.”

Russian Links Flagged in Epstein Files

According to the documents, Epstein repeatedly explored avenues to connect with senior Russian figures. A 2010 email shows him offering to help an associate obtain a Russian visa, writing: “I have a friend of Putin’s, should I ask him?” Other emails reference Russian women, politicians, and flight bookings for models and escorts between Moscow, Paris and New York. Elon Musk Defends Role in Epstein Files Release Amid Document Scrutiny.

The files also include messages suggesting Epstein sought meetings in Russia. In September 2011, an unidentified associate mentioned “an appointment with Putin” during a Russia trip, though there is no evidence such a meeting ever took place. Epstein also claimed he could provide “insight” on Donald Trump to Sergei Lavrov, writing: “It is not complex. He [Trump] must be seen to get something. It’s that simple.”

Kremlin Dismisses Spy Claims

Russia has rejected the allegations outright. Asked if Epstein was a Russian agent, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “I’m tempted to make a lot of jokes about that version, but let’s not waste our time.” Peskov also said the Kremlin never received any request from Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on s*x trafficking charges.

Earlier, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the Epstein files instead highlighted what she described as the hypocrisy of Western elites.

What The Epstein Files Reveal

The latest release is part of nearly three million documents made public by the DOJ on January 30 under the Epstein Files Transparency law. The cache includes emails, court records, flight logs and interview transcripts linked to Epstein’s s*x trafficking network involving underage girls. Around 2.5 million pages remain unreleased, with further disclosures expected in the coming months.
