Kolkata, Dec 7 (PTI) City-based industry body, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), will mentor students of an institute in the state for entrepreneurship.

The chamber said on Saturday it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University Institute of Technology, Burdwan University to assist its students to emerge as entrepreneurs.

As per the MoU till March next year, two persons from the BCCI will provide on-campus mentoring to the students of the institute, a constituent of the Burdwan University.

Meanwhile, the chamber has also launched the Women Entrepreneurship Cell.

Speaking at an entrepreneurship summit, AVP of Bennett Coleman and Co Ltd, Rajesh Singhal said, "Success of start-ups does not depend on external funding. It is not necessary. One has to make business more sustainable for customers."

Chamber president BB Chatterjee said uncertainty is always prevalent in entrepreneurship and running a business needs a mix of knowledge and following one's instincts. PTI
