New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): Larsen & Tubro has secured an "ultra-mega" gas compression project in the Middle East worth more than Rs 15,000 crore as per an exchange filing.

As per the filing, the company's engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm -- L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) -- has signed an agreement for undertaking a gas compression facilities project for a major client in the Middle East against a letter of award issued in FY26.

The project involves the EPC of gas compression plants, which further includes -- gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and all related utilities. According to the filing, these facilities will be developed for new onshore installations to process sour gas in compliance with applicable client standards, codes and project requirements.

"To meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants, L&T's Power Transmission & Distribution business will execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations," the filing reads.

LTEH Onshore offers Lump Sum Turnkey solutions across upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors.

Commenting on the development, E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President & Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said, "The contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure. The project draws on our extensive experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces our capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications.

Earlier, LTEH Offshore secured an 'Ultra Mega order' worth over Rs.15000 crores from a major Middle East client for the development of multiple offshore facilities. It also secured an order valued at up to Rs 5,000 crore, to design and build an Automated People Mover system for Phase 1 of Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport partnering with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

At the time of reporting, the stock was trading at around Rs 4083.50 per share, down 4.55 points or -0.11 per cent. (ANI)
