"This is an initiative that I believe some people in our country are already doing, but not enough people are doing it. The tradition of feeding the hungry and helping those in need is deeply rooted in our culture, our history, and our religion. I believe that if even four people start feeding those in need in this way, we can make a real difference in solving the problem of hunger in our country."
Khanna said he has started the initiative, called 'Shaniwar Bhoj', through the Mukesh Khanna Foundation. He plans to provide food to around 100 to 150 people every Saturday and said he may also extend the effort to other days of the week.
