Mumbai, October 27: In anticipation of a surge in travellers during the upcoming festive season, Central Railway has imposed temporary restrictions on the sale of platform tickets at key stations to manage crowding and ensure smooth passenger movement within station premises.

A notice issued by Central Railways states, "Temporary restrictions on the sale of platform tickets have been imposed at major stations, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, and Nagpur. This step aims to manage crowding on platforms and ensure smooth passenger movement within station premises." Maharashtra: Central Railway Imposes Temporary Restrictions on Platform Ticket Sales at Major Stations Ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja.

The restriction on platform ticket sales is effective immediately until November 8, 2024, covering the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals.
