As per the release, the Chief Minister briefed Nitin Gadkari about the importance of the proposed greenfield highway connecting Hyderabad to the Andhra Pradesh capital city.

The highway project was envisaged as per the mandated AP Reorganisation Act. The CM appealed to the minister to approve and issue orders for this immediately.

CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the 12-lane highway proposed from 'Bharat Future City' to Bandar Port via Amaravati, which reduces travel distance between Hyderabad and Vijayawada by 100 kilometres, said the release.

The highway would also help to reduce freight transportation time between Hyderabad and Bandar Port.

The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister of the pending forest clearances for the Mannanur-Srisailam elevated corridor, which also covered Nallamala Sanctuary, Srisailam Temple and Srisailam reservoirs. The CM urged Nitin Gadkari to approve the corridor.

According to the release, CM Revanth Reddy explained to the Union Minister the urgent need to sanction a six-lane alternative highway from Mancherial to Hyderabad, which serves as an alternative to the existing Rajiv Highway.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government would undertake the necessary land acquisition for this project. The new highway would create fresh opportunities for agriculture and business.

Nalgonda MP Raghuveer Reddy, R&B Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Government Advisor and Ex-officio Special Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, Special Secretary (Coordination) Advait Kumar Singh, and others were present in the meeting. (ANI)
