London, Mar 11: Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the remaining two one-day internationals (ODIs) of the five-match series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury during the third match in Durban on Sunday. The Sri Lanka Cricket, however, announced it will not be sending any replacement players, ESPNcricinfo reported on Monday.

Perera was firing in the Test leg of the tour, scoring 353 runs in five innings, including a half-century and a memorable unbeaten 153 in the first Test that helped Sri Lanka script history and win the series 2-0.

In the ODIs, Perera made only 33 and eight in his two outings and did not bat in the third match. Having lost the series by 0-3, Sri Lanka will play South Africa in the fourth ODI on March 13 at Port Elizabeth, followed with the fifth match on March 16 at Cape Town.
