Shimla, July 4: Police here on Thursday arrested two Nepalese nationals with 1.5 kg of opium in Theog Subdivision of Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district, officials said. The accused, Tilak Bohra and Shuba Budha, were working as labourers in Narkanda, police said. On receiving information about a car carrying a large quantity of opium, police set up a barrier near Gadegal village and intercepted the vehicle, a police official said. Upon checking the vehicle, 1.5 kg of opium was found in it, the official said. Superintendent of Police, Shimla, Sanjeev Gandhi said a case under sections 18 (opium smuggling and use) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against the accused.
