LG Asks DMRC to Take Steps to Minimise Congestion After Launch of Chirag Dilli Metro Stations

Lt Governor Anil Baijal today reviewed preparedness of the traffic department to handle the expected traffic congestion after the launch of Chirag Dilli and GK-2 metro stations by the end of this month.

New Delhi, May 1 (PTI) Lt Governor Anil Baijal today reviewed preparedness of the traffic department to handle the expected traffic congestion after the launch of Chirag Dilli and GK-2 metro stations by the end of this month.

According to the L-G office, Baijal directed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to barricade footpaths and segregate lanes for auto-rickshaws and private vehicles near the two metro stations.

Both the stations lie on the Magenta Line.

An official said today's meeting was brief and the DMRC and the traffic police submitted their plans to manage crowd and movement of vehicles near the metro stations.
