New Delhi [India], April 30 (ANI): The upcoming United States-North Korea summit may be conducted at the North-South Korean border.

United States President Donald Trump on Monday hinted in a tweet that the bilateral summit may be conducted at the Peace House situated at the border village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarised Zone of the Korean peninsula.

"Numerous countries are being considered for the MEETING, but would Peace House/Freedom House, on the Border of North & South Korea, be a more Representative, Important and Lasting site than a third party country? Just asking!" Trump tweeted.

Recently, North-South Korea signed a peace treaty at the inter-Korean summit at the same truce village located at Demilitarised Zone as mentioned in the President Trump's tweet. It led to a formal end to the six-decades-old war.

President Trump who has supported the denuclearization of North Korea has not yet commented upon the North-South Korean summit.

Earlier on April 29, Trump said that a meeting between the US and North Korea is likely possible in "three or four weeks".

On the same day, South Korean President Moon Jae-in's chief press secretary Yoon Young-chan said North Korea is planning to close down its Punggye-ri nuclear test site in May, as reported by the Yonhap News agency.

Earlier North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had announced to suspend the country's nuclear and missile tests. (ANI)
